SARAH THILLAGARATNAM

Passionate , versatile and committed, Sarah Thillagaratnam’s love of the arts began at an early age when she listened to musical theatre soundtracks and watched performances in London’s West End. She is qualified with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Journalism and Film & TV, and furthered her education with a postgraduate qualification in Literature. She has performed in seven Shakespeare productions. Sarah has a particular passion for stage combat – she put her fencing skills to use as the leader of the Amazon warriors in a production of Peter Pan, and when she was cast in the lead role of Alex the Squire in the sword-fighting comedy, The Search For Merlin’s Staff. She enjoys variety in her work and took on the roles of Mrs Bennet and Miss Anne De Bourgh in a comedic version of Pride and Prejudice. Sarah has performed in musicals which include Gilbert and Sullivan productions, and was cast in the lead role of Bagheera the panther in Jungle Book The Musical. She played Johnna Monevata in August Osage County which won Best Play at the 2019 Independent Theatre Awards, and was fortunate enough to perform at the Heath Ledger Theatre as part of the awards ceremony. Sarah has done an advertising campaign for Crown Resorts and Casino, and features as an extra alongside Sam Neill in the upcoming third season of The Twelve.
