Moana Mayatrix

Moana Mayatrix is a Māori–Australian actor and performer from Western Australia, working across theatre, film, and music. An ECU graduate with Honours in Contemporary Performance and Literature, she has performed with acclaimed theatre companies including Yirra Yaakin (Iceland: a Hip H’Opera), Renegade Productions (The Book of Death – A Story of Life, Medusa), The Wet Weather Ensemble (Adam and Eve, Bird Boy), and Foxglove Productions (Worship). Internationally, she undertook a creative residency at The Watermill Centre in New York for avant-garde theatre.

On screen, Moana has been cast in pilot episodes for feature films and TV series (The Very Name Hallucinates, Open Mike), featured in short films (Apples & Oranges), and appeared in music videos for artists including Vida Cain and Klaude. Her own music videos have screened internationally across the USA and Europe, winning Best Australian Music Video at the 2023 Prague Music Video Awards — a testament to her on-screen magnetism.

Renowned as the front-woman of Mayatrix & The Psychics and praised by Triple J as “one of Australia’s fiercest front-women,” Moana is celebrated for her stage presence, vocal performance, and artistic vision. She has also performed extensively in children’s musical theatre, including Dirt Girl, Ben 10, and Shrek at major events across Western Australia.

Moana is currently developing a new album of original music while training in ballet to expand her dance practice, and actively pursuing stage, screen, voice, and modelling opportunities. A bold storyteller and dynamic performer, she brings depth, spirit, and authenticity to every project she touches.
