Lauren May is an actress, singer, and dancer and occasional model from Perth in WA. Her love of the arts started in her early schooling years, winning a scholarship with the Barking Gecko Theatre Company to study in their “Skilling Up” program. Motivated by this learning experience, Lauren joined the Perth chapter of the Australian Girls’ Choir (AGC), where she led several acting and singing showcases increasing her desire to perform on stage and screen.
Lauren received a scholarship to record an original song, “Isolated” with Fusion Music Publishing (available on Spotify!) and has performed in several tertiary student productions in the past year (2021). She has been involved in New Faces Talent Academy (NFTA) events, including the AUSCAAS, acting and singing in Melbourne and Sydney. She is also creating new music work with LA-based company Indasoul Records, who will market her in the US and performed as a backup vocalist during two Hugh Jackman’s tours during 2015 and 2019 and been a regular guest model for Huzzard Studios, since 2018.
She also won a scholarship to attend Gondwana National Youth Choir at UNSW and performed for many years as a leading member of the Australian Girls’ Choir (AGC). She has performed other music material, both solo and in groups, across industry events in Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney.
Lauren has also attended workshops at WAAPA over the past several years and attended Principal Academy of Dance and Theatre Arts in 2020, where she studied for a Diploma of Music Theatre. At the end of 2022, Lauren will be moving to the UK to study for a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts (Hons) at the University of East London to enable her to achieve her ultimate passion and love: performing
