Amy Penning
Amy has been performing since she was young. And chose to attend drama class rather than sports on the weekend. In high school, she performed in productions. So, she decided not to stop. Amy studied the Acting Essentials course at 16th Street Actors Studio (2022-2023). She has now found a home in the vibrant Melbourne community theatre scene. She performed in Hamlet as Ophelia with Grover Theatre Company (2022). She has also performed with Eltham Little Theatre in Much Ado About Nothing as Hero (2023) and as Hope and Ginette in Almost Maine (2023). Amy recently performed with Mordialloc Theatre Company in Veronica’s Room as the Girl (2024).
Amy has been writing and imagining stories since she was a young girl. She loves playwriting and writing short stories. She is particularly interested in mental health, feminism, and empowerment. Amy also has an interest in writing for children. She co-wrote with Stephanie Fazzari and performed in a one-woman show called Obsession in 2023. In the future, she would love to write more plays and to be a director.
